About the Instructor

Catherine T. Morris is a mother, entrepreneur, and visionary, who works at the intersection of arts, culture and creative placekeeping. Over the last 20 years, Catherine has spent her time and energy producing shows, as well as mobilizing and engaging local audiences to experience the arts. Now, as the Founder and Executive Director of Boston Art & Music Soul (BAMS) Fest, this volunteer-run nonprofit organization that breaks racial and social barriers to arts, music and culture for Black and Brown communities and artists across Greater Boston. As a result, BAMS Fest has supported, hired and presented 400+ BIPOC artists and creative entrepreneurs; activated (20+) public spaces and venues, and has attracted over (10,000+) attendees.

This workshop is being offered as part of the Creative Economy Workshop Series at MassArt. This series of one-day, non-credit lectures and workshops is focused on professional development for practicing and aspiring creative entrepreneurs, artists, designers, and freelancers. To see upcoming workshops visit the Eventbrite Profile for Massachusetts College of Art.

This program is supported through a partnership with the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture.
