Dom Jones, from Oakland, CA, is a voice principal at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, dual majoring in Music Business and Songwriting. At Berklee, she is the Editor-in-Chief of Berklee Groove, a Grammy U Ambassador on campus, and a leader in the Black Student Union. The Founder and Principal Artist at Dom Empire, she weaves her passion for music, media, and social justice through various projects. An International Songwriting Competition Winner in 2014, Dom released her first album, Wingspan that same year. In addition to being Editor-in-Chief of her school’s publication The Berklee Groove, Dom has been published in Huffington Post, Ebony.com, TeenVogue.com and was a Contributing Writer for Blavity in 2016. Her latest work, Blackbird, explores the unapologetic ascent through black struggle and triumph, in the mediums of Spoken Word and Photography. She recently completed three years of service on the National Council of Young Leaders, and is committed to helping urban youth gain access to technology, higher education, and jobs.
