Join the dopest volunteer squad in all of the land!

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and programs such the Festival. When you volunteer, you bring a part of your soul, your lived experience, and your joy to thousands of visitors, attendees and residents

Meet new people, connect with your community and enjoy some of the most talented artists in music, dance and visual art. This is Boston Art & Music Soul Festival.

Volunteer Skills & Qualifications: 

We are looking for SOULFUL people with a love, passion and appreciation of arts, culture and community. We are looking for folks who can  have GRACE, COMPASSION and PATIENCE for others will being of service of others. We appreciate folks with a “can do” attitude and a desire to learn with a sense of humor. 

Below are other qualities we are looking for:

  • Strong verbal communication skills and sensitivity to customer needs

  • Ensures a safe, clean and friendly environment

  • Provides a good impression to guests and enthusiastically answers any questions about the Festival

  • The ability to work with minimal supervision; able to take direction and execute on assigned tasks

  • Ability to exercise good judgment

  • Comfortable and able to ask for clarity, if something does not make sense.

  • A high level of emotional and cultural intelligence and sensitivity

  • A creative thinker and thoughtful listener

  • Previous volunteer experience (preferred but not required)

As an Area Captain you will work alongside the event planning team to manage the volunteers of a specific area and ensure all necessary tasks are completed.

Sunday, June 30, 2024 | 12noon - 8pm

Festival Working Environment Conditions:
  • Indoors and/Outdoors

  • Rain or shine

  • Festival conditions: Mainly grassy fields; dirt grounds; dusty streets

  • Long times of standing and walking

  • Able to lift/move up to 50lbs

Requirements of BAMS Festival Volunteers:
  • Available for a one (1) Volunteer Training 

  • Must be 18+ years old to volunteer (mature 16-17 year old teens can volunteer with legal guardian/parental consent)

  • Work at least one five (5) hour shift 

  • Arrive to shift completely sober (strict no alcohol/drug policy before and during shift)

  • Wear your Volunteer T-shirt while on shift (and only wear when on shift)

  • Wear closed-toe shoes during shift(s)

  • Check and respond to periodic BAMS Festival Volunteer emails and text messages to ensure that your volunteer spot is confirmed

  • Follow all BAMS Festival rules and policies

  • Pick up credentials  (t-shirt) BEFORE the festival at Franklin Park, Playstead Field. Times TBD.

  • Be available during the week of June 26 - 30, 2024.

Additional Volunteer Information:

 This is a rain or shine event 

  • Photo ID required for credential pickup starting on June 29; you may only pick up your own credentials.

  • There will NOT be a storage area for volunteer belongings

  • We recommend bringing the following items to your volunteer shift: comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, hat, rain gear, and bottled water.
